St. James' Christian Academy was birthed from a Saturday literacy program, called Literacy for Kids, at St. James' Church. The church was founded in 1843, and currently serves a mixed, urban population in the Fair Haven district of the city of New Haven, Connecticut.
The church embraces a multicultural environment, worshiping in both English and Spanish, and ministering to the surrounding community with outreach programs.
We believe that there is only one living and true God, the Father. We believe that Jesus is the eternal Son of - and the way to - God, the Father. We also believe that God's Holy Spirit fully and actively dwells in the hearts, bodies, and minds of all believers.
The Holy Bible is our perfect guide of divine instruction, and we take all scripture as true and trustworthy.
We operate out of a belief that as God's instruments on earth, both parents and educators have a responsibility to give children the skills they need to succeed academically, and the Christian foundation to enable them to seek perfect obedience to God in accordance with the Holy Scriptures.
